How fast will the scooters go?
The Cruiser XS will go 72 mph and the Vintage XL will go 50 mph with a 170 lb rider.
How far will the scooters go?
15 miles to 50 miles depending on the model, battery configuration and your needs. Simply stated we have designed scooter models that fit most any need.
How long does it take to charge?
30 min fast charge is available But with standard charger 2-8 hours or over night is typical.
Do I need a special outlet for charging?
No, our chargers included with each scooter use a regular 110 Volt standard household outlet. Charging will stop automatically once the batteries have reached full charge.
When do I need to recharge the batteries?
You can recharge the batteries at any time. They have no memory, so whether a little low on charge or very low it will not damage or shorten the life of the battery (like your cell phone). We recommend that you top off the battery any time you can. The higher the charge maintained the longer the battery life will last. Each time you plug it in it will count as a charge cycle. Our silicone batteries have a 400 cycle life. Our LiFePo4 Lithium batteries boast a >2000 life cycle
Will the scooter carry me and a friend?
Yes. Our higher powered models carry two 200-pound passengers with no problems. More weight will draw more power from the batteries, but they are fully capable of carrying two adults or one really large adult with no problem (even up steep hills).
Do I need a motorcycle license to operate a NOGAS scooter?
Most states require a motorcycle license for models our X series models. However,our lower powered models only require a valid drivers license, a DOT approved helmet and safety glasses.
Do I need liability insurance on my scooter
Not according to most state law. In addition most homeowner policies would cover the scooter in the case of theft. Check with your agent.
Do I need to register and license my scooter?
Most states require this and we recommend it. We have all necessary legal documentation and in most cases we do this for you.
Does a NOGAS scooter come with a warranty?
Yes, we stand behind every product we sell. NOGAS scooters have a full one year warranty and the batteries carry a six month free replacement warranty.
What if my scooter needs repairs in the future?
NOGAS scooters are virtually maintenance free but like everything else, parts can and do wear out after much use. NOGAS, LLC, as well as all NOGAS dealers have access to every part used to build a NOGAS scooter along with the know-how to assist or repair it for you.
